ConstructSim Work Package Server Setup Guide

To Process the CAD and ISO data

After you convert all the CAD and ISO data, you need to open ConstructSim Executive and perform the End-to-End Data Run. This Data Run contains Managed Commands to process the data so that you can use it in ConstructSim Planner and ConstructSim Work Package Server. The data is downloaded to ConstructSimData\Projects\your project\ProjectData.

The End to End Data Run populates the VCM (Virtual Construction Model) with the engineering data.

  1. Open your project (*.VEM) in ConstructSim Executive.
  2. From the WorkFlow pane, go to Workflows > Your Project and right-click End-To-End Data Run.
  3. From the pop up menu, select Run. The Command Execution - End-To-End Data Run dialog opens.
  4. When the processing is complete, close the Command Execution dialog.
  5. Check the VCM to confirm that the engineering data has been downloaded.

To Process Specific Engineering Work Packages

  1. Open your project (*.VEM) in ConstructSim Executive.
  2. From the WorkFlow pane, go to Workflows > Your Project > End-To-End Data Run and expand Phase 0 - Import Latest Engineering Data for EWPs.
  3. Right-click Create EWP Export List and select Properties. The Workflow Properties dialog opens.
  4. In the Attributes section's Arguments column, select EWPS (optional).
  5. In the Value field, type or paste, as a comma separated list, the names of the engineering work packages you want to process.
  6. Click OK in the Workflow Properties dialog.
  7. In ConstructSim Executive, click File > Save.
  8. Right-click Phase 0 - Import Latest Engineering Data for EWPs and from the pop up menu, select Run. Your data is downloaded to the \ProjectData\ folder ready to be used in the engineering work packages.

To Configure End-to-End Workflow for Steel Work Packages

  1. Open your project (*.VEM) in ConstructSim Executive.
  2. From the WorkFlow pane, go to Workflows > Your Project > End-To-End Data Run > Phase 2 – Populate New VCM with Latest Engineering Data and expand VCM Attributes.
  3. Right-click Set Steel Component VCM Attributes and from the pop up, click Run.
  4. Continuing in the VCM Attributes section, expand Synchronize VCM Attributes > STANDARD - Insert Component Attributes into the Local VCM and right-click Insert Steel Component Attributes into the Local VCM and from the pop up, click Run.
  5. In the Phase 2 – Populate New VCM with Latest Engineering Data section, go to Task Processing > Task Generation, right-click STANDARD - Generate Tasks with Unit Rate Adapter - STEEL – SSURT and from the pop up, click Run. You can now create work packages for steel.

To Configure End-to-End Workflow for Equipment Construction Tasks

  1. Open your project (*.VEM) in ConstructSim Executive.
  2. In the Phase 2 – Populate New VCM with Latest Engineering Data section, go to Task Processing > Task Generation > STANDARD - Generate Tasks Using Generic Unit Rates, right-click STANDARD - Generate Generic Equipment Unit Rates and from the pop up, click Run.
